Chi City Mom is a lifestyle blog that documents life as an urban parent, wife, friend,and someone who just loves the city life. My blog is a mix of tips, finds, reviews, recipes, fashion, and my love for underground House music. Chi City Mom is also a blog that showcases how great Chicago living can really be whether you are a newbie in town for that first job or that long time resident raising a family.
What is your favorite post you’ve written or your favorite series/type of post?
It would have to be the post on 10 Ways Living in Chicago Can Spoil You For Life. Sometimes I wonder why I don’t just follow the crowd and up and move to the suburbs now that I have kids. After writing this piece, it had reignited my love for city living and a powerful reminder why I live here! It made me realize this city is for everyone.
What is something you wish you knew how to do related to blogging?
I REALLY would like to know how bloggers are getting opportunities and getting connected to host live events and do live collaborations. For example, I have seen them host events at stores such as the Gap,Madewell,etc and I would LOVE to do something like that!
Why did you start blogging?
My love for writing stemmed as a child writing short stories for fun. Then college papers got in the way for awhile as well as life did,so this allows me get back into it again. Sounds cliche, but I started blogging as a creative outlet from my day to day grind being a full-time Medical Social Worker. It’s very fullfilling.
What is your favorite social platform?
My favorite social platform would have to be Twitter. I seem to be able to gain followers the most there, and I love interacting in 140 words or less, because I am such a busy person as a full-time working mother living in the city!
